New programme of events announced

04 August 2011

We are pleased to announce a full programme of FLJS events for the second half of 2011.

The programme will be opened with three events on 28th September, including an analysis of institutional reform in Russia, and a colloquium and lecture taking different approaches to  constitutional theory.

In October, we will take our Constitutions programme to Sofia, Bulgaria, to continue our exploration of Eastern European constitution-making, whilst back in Oxford, a conference held in partnership with the Centre for Socio-Legal Studies will address the largely unknown world of alternative dispute resolution, in advance of legislation by the European Commission later this year. Participants will include Paulien van der Grinten from the Ministry of Justice, The Hague, Isabelle Rouveure from the European Commission, and a representative from the UK Department for Business, Innovation & Skills.

On 8th December, we will be taking an empirical approach to assess the constitutions of Israel, Argentina, and Iceland, and the following day will see us revisit the issue of regulatory accountability, with a workshop exploring possible regulatory remedies.

Please register online at our Upcoming Events page to reserve your place at any of these events.
