The Hidden World of Consumer ADR: Redress and Behaviour
ADR is highly topical at EU level and within Member States, with the European Commission due to issue proposals in 2011 for a Framework Directive on ADR and a Regulation on a system for ODR. Yet many people are unfamiliar with the consumer dispute resolution mechanisms that have emerged, almost unseen, in recent years: ADR in this context is not merely "mediation" of court claims, but a separate world.
This conference reported results of a major comparative study on ADR systems in Europe, showing what actually exists, and what potential exists for extending both redress and collective redress.
