Deadline extended for applications for Summer School 2009

16 December 2008

The deadline for applications for the FLJS summer school has now been extended until Friday 16 January 2009. Two fully subsidised scholarships for this two-week residential course examining the role of law in society, to be held in Oxford on 28 June-10 July 2009, are available for undergraduate students currently studying in UK universities.

The scholarships will be awarded on the basis of an open essay competition, the deadline for which has been extended until 16 January to allow undergraduates to compose the essay without compromising their term-time study.

Applicants should submit an essay of no more than 1,500 words in response to the following question:

“Should the United Kingdom adopt a constitutionally entrenched Bill of Rights?”

The essay and a completed application form should be emailed to by Friday 16th January 2009. Successful applicants will be selected by Friday 30th January 2009.

Full details of the course, eligibility criteria, and an application form are available from the Downloads box on the right. For further information, please email
