Janet Bacastow is currently Associate Programme Director for the MSc Finance programmes at the London School of Economics. Previously, she was responsible for student finance careers at London Business School. As an investment banker for twenty years, she specialized in complex financings, bankruptcies and restructurings, and airline relationships management. Later, she worked in London, creating corporate finance, M&A, and financial advisory opportunities in the former Soviet bloc.
After spending a year in Moscow at the Russian Securities Commission, she established a financial consulting business based in London and New York for European emerging markets. She also taught finance and strategy at the undergraduate level in London. She holds a B.S. in Economics from Wellesley College and an MBA from Stanford University.
