Next year, the Foundation will embark on a new project to run a summer school for local and international students interested in studying the role of law in society.
The course will focus on the UK and European legal system, and will include units on constitutional reform, the criminal justice system, and transitional justice.
It will be taught by the FLJS Programme Director and Tutor at Oriel College, Daniel Butt.
The school will be held over the two weeks from 28 June until 10 July 2009, at the Manor Road Building in Oxford, home to Oxford University's social sciences division and library. Accomodation for students will be provided by St Catherine's College, one of the more modern Oxford colleges, which is ideally situated next to the Manor Road Building and within five minute's walk of the city centre.
During the course, students will also have the chance to visit London for a tour of the High Court, as well as trips to Blenheim Palace and Stratford-upon-Avon to see the Royal Shakespeare Theatre.
